Mismatched MC4 connectors from two different manufacturers will mate happily and then fail slowly over five years. It is the single most common fault we find, and it is entirely an installation decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second: a loose grounding lug. Usually torqued once and never checked. It rarely stops the system, but it will fail an inspection and it is a genuine safety issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Third: firmware. Inverter manufacturers push fixes for real bugs, and a system nobody has logged into since commissioning is running four years of known issues.
