The median rally length was seven shots. Almost nobody trains for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drills tend to be either short \u2014 serve, return, one ball \u2014 or endless, twenty-ball cross-court patterns that never resolve. The seven-shot window is where the point is actually decided, and it is the window that rewards patience over power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since we started building squad blocks around that number, the division three win rate for our members has moved by a margin that is hard to explain any other way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Club matches are decided between the fifth and ninth ball.
