KM 04 Squads

Pick the squad, not the pace group

Every squad runs the same principles and completely different weeks. You are placed after your first lab visit, and you can move between them whenever your goal changes.

Track squad 5K to 10K

Sharpen

Two structured sessions a week on the Winterline oval, built around repeatable splits rather than one heroic effort you cannot recover from.

  • Tuesday and Thursday
  • Groups of eight
  • Split sheet after every session
Trail squad 25K to 50K

Climb

Vertical gain treated as its own currency. You get a weekly climb budget, descent technique work, and fuelling rehearsals on real terrain.

  • Saturday long day
  • Shuttle to Cutbank
  • Nutrition plan included
Road squad Half to marathon

Hold

Built for people whose race is decided at kilometre thirty. Long runs are progressive, fuelling is timed, and the taper is written on day one.

  • 18 to 20 week blocks
  • Pace bands supplied
  • Course recon runs

What people say after a full block

I came in wanting more mileage. My first read said the opposite, and I argued about it for a week. Ran a four minute half PR eleven weeks later on less volume than I had been doing alone.

The asymmetry number was the thing. Five years of a left calf that kept going and nobody had ever put a figure on why. Eight weeks of the strength prescription and it stopped.
Tomasz Reidy Tomasz Reidy Trail squad · 3 years
What sold me was the Sunday shakeout. I turned up as a stranger and nobody asked what my pace was. I joined properly a fortnight later and I have not run alone since.
Amara Ostwald Amara Ostwald Track squad · 1 year
Nine months in and the thing I did not expect was the load ceiling quietly shrinking a week I had planned badly. It was right and I was wrong, which I have now stopped arguing about.
