Six minutes on the dock, not twenty. What we cover, what we leave out, and why the order matters.
Lifejackets, the boom, where to hold on, what happens if someone goes in, where the heads are. That is the whole list. Everything else — reefing, the radio, the anchor — gets explained when we are doing it, because nobody retains a procedure they have not seen yet.
A long brief on a hot dock teaches nothing. A short one, repeated in context an hour later, is the reason our guests can still describe the man-overboard drill a week afterwards.
