The reason we run our own laboratory is not speed for its own sake. It is that a result you get during the appointment changes what happens next; a result you get on Thursday changes a phone call.
Bloodwork, urinalysis and cytology are run on site, usually inside twenty minutes. Radiography is digital, so the image is on the screen next to you rather than in a darkroom. Ultrasound sits in the same room as the x-ray, which means a scan does not turn into a second appointment.
