An estimate that says “diagnostics — $340” is not an estimate, it is a number. Ours lists each test, what it would tell us, and whether it changes today’s decision or next month’s. You are allowed to decline any line on it, and declining is not the same as doing nothing.
If the plan changes mid-visit — a finding we did not expect, a test that comes back needing a follow-up — we call before we spend. Nobody should learn what happened by reading the invoice.
